Short sleeves and sandals weather

After a gloomy and wet weekend last week, spring--nay, summer--decided to come to Kodiak. For Alaskans, it's officially short sleeve (or tank top) and sandals weather.

You might be wondering what kind of temperatures I'm talking about. Temperatures are hitting--and even slightly above!--60 degrees Fahrenheit (that's about 15 Celsius).

We've also had several days of glorious, glorious sun and cloudless blue skies. These are long days, too; right now we have about 16 hours of light each day with a gain of about 5 minutes of sunlight each day.

Although I'm not quite feeling ready for short sleeves and sandals myself, I've definitely been ready for time in the sun. So even though T's feeling a little under the weather today, we spent a little time on a beach this afternoon. It was delightful.

So, yeah, she totally put that sand in her mouth right after we took this picture.
